In this Stage…
AIMS:
1. To give students a head start for the future when they are 17 and can finally drive on the roads
2. To have mastered all basic car and road handling skills off road with no distractions
3. To ensure our roads will be safer in the future
4. To have established a firm grounding in the DSA driving syllabus including: clutch control, reversing, gear changing, junctions, emergency stop and manoeuvres
OBJECTIVES:
Combining skills and development of Stage 1 and Stage 2
To be aware of forward planning on approach to a bend, working on correct entry and course through different bends on the track
To be able to use the full gear box as required
To participate in:
- Forward Planning
- Bends
- Correct Speed
- Correct Gear
- To meet, cross and overtake other traffic
- Planning and negotiating roundabouts (subject to venue)
- To have a taste of the Driving Test
FURTHER PROGRESSION IS ONGOING AND CAN INCLUDE REFRESHERS FOR ROAD DRIVING, RALLY CLASSES, RACE SCHOOL CLASSES, SKID PAD TRAINING AND WINTER DRIVING WHEN WEATHER PERMITS.
